Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church received its original charter in 1911. Having survived three horrific fires, the last in 2003, the Church is celebrating its continued growth and plans for the future. As a result of the dedicated and intricate restoration process, Father Vasile Bitere and Holy Trinity GOC were awarded the Historic Preservation Award from Historic Augusta, Inc. in October 2006.
Central to the lives of Greek families as well as all Orthodox Christians is their Orthodox faith, their Church and their Church family life. To emphasize and share this priority of Greek lifestyle, our annual Greek Festival event provides Festival goers with the opportunity to tour Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, hosted by our Parish Priest, Rev. Father Vasile Bitere. Here, they will have the opportunity to see, hear and experience the Orthodox faith through our Church’s architecture, its Byzantine art and music as well as the tradition and symbolism representing Orthodox Christianity.
