Who We Are

The Philoptochos Society, established in 1931, is the official philanthropic & charitable organization of the Greek Orthodox Church in America.  A society of the spiritually faithful, united in love and service.

It is the LARGEST Christian women’s organization in the World

&

The society has been proclaimed the right arm of the Greek Orthodox Church.

It is our duty to sponsor various events and fundraise throughout the year to help alleviate the suffering of those in need within our local community and support national charities as well.

OUR MISSION

To aid the poor, the destitute, the hungry, the aged, the sick, the unemployed, the orphaned, the imprisoned, the widowed, the handicapped, the victims of disasters, and to offer assistance to anyone who may need the help of the Church through fundraising efforts.  To promote charitable, benevolent and philanthropic outreach to our community!  In addition, we seek to promote the Orthodox Faith and traditions and encourage participation in the activities of the Greek Orthodox Church.
